BE IT REMEMBERED, that the White County Commissioners held a regular meeting on Monday, January 5, 2015. The meeting was held at the White County Building, 2nd floor Commissioners’ Conference Room, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

 

Commissioners present were: President John C. Heimlich, Vice President Steve Burton and Commissioner David Diener. Also present was the White County Auditor Gayle Rogers, White County Attorney George Loy and the Commissioners’ Assistant Donya Tirpak.

 

Commissioner Heimlich called the meeting to order.

 

MINUTES

  • Commissioner Diener made a motion to approve the minutes from the special meeting held on December 29, 2014, as presented, seconded by Commissioner Burton. Vote: Unanimous

 

PAYROLL

  • Commissioner Burton made a motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Commissioner Diener. Vote: Unanimous

 

LIABILITY AND WORKMAN’S COMP INSURANCE RENEWAL

Commissioner Heimlich presented the recommendations from Heiny Insurance for the liability and workman’s comp insurance premiums for 2015as follows:

 

Liability & Auto Package Renewal with GIE : $209,001.00

Property, IM, & Crime Renewal with Chubb: $ 45,775.00

Workers Compensation Renewal with Bituminous $119,642.00

 

  • Commissioner Burton made a motion to approve the insurance renewals for 2015 as recommended by Heiny Insurance, seconded by Commissioner Diener. Vote: Unanimous

 

EMA GRANT’S

Roberta Yerk, Director, presented the following grants requesting approval.

 

2014 Emergency Management Performance Grant

$8,485.29 has been awarded and will be used to purchase a wireless intercom system and a tablet for the Monticello Fire Department. Using the intercom system will eliminate unnecessary radio traffic so that more important information can be relayed over the radio. The tablet will be used while they’re in the vehicle to access information on hazardous materials.

 

  • Commissioner Burton made a motion to accept the 2014 Emergency Management Performance Grant for $8,485.29 from the Department of Homeland Security as presented, seconded by Commissioner Diener. Vote: Unanimous

 

 

 

2014 Homeland Security Grant

$14,950.00 has been awarded and will be used to purchase a monitor for the Prosecutor’s Office. Six batteries will be purchased for back-up for the 800 MHz radios, and 30 body cameras will be purchased and divided between the Monticello Police Department and the White County Sheriff’s Dept.

 

  • Commissioner Diener made a motion to accept the 2014 Homeland Security Grant for $14,950.00 from the Department of Homeland Security as presented, seconded by Commissioner Burton. Vote: Unanimous
