BE IT REMEMBERED, that the White County Drainage Board held a regular meeting on Monday, March 21, 2016. The meeting was held at the White County Building, 2nd floor, Commissioners’ conference room beginning at 10:30 a.m.

 

Drainage Board members present were: President Steve Burton and Vice President John Heimlich. Also, present were the White County Attorney George W. Loy, White County Deputy Surveyor Steve Sundy and the Surveyor’s Assistant Sharon Broussard. Member David Diener and Surveyor Bradley E. Ward were absent.

 

Others present were:

Mike Kyburz – White County Highway Superintendent J.D. Smith – White County Highway Dept.

Sharon Watson-White County Soil & Water Dept.

 

President Burton called the meeting to order.

 

 

MINUTES

  • Vice President Heimlich made a motion to approve the minutes as presented for the regular meeting held on March 7, 2016; seconded by President Burton. Vote: Unanimous (2-Favor, 1-Absent)

 

 

T. J. WOLTZ #603

Deputy Surveyor Sundy presented the information to the Drainage Board for their decision.

 

White County Attorney Loy advised there is an emergency situation to complete the work and the quote is in a position to accept.

 

  • Vice President Heimlich made a motion to accept the T.J. Woltz #603 bid of $344,982.38 from Howe Excavating, Inc., Royal Center, IN; seconded by President Burton. Vote: Unanimous (2–Favor, 1–Absent)

 

 

 

COUNTRYBROOK SUBDIVISION NO. 1 & NO. 2 IN THE CITY OF MONTICELLO – PETITION TO MAKE THE MUTUAL DRAIN A REGULATED DRAIN

The petition was submitted by the City of Monticello.

 

Deputy Surveyor Sundy said to take part of South Park subdivision water and send it a different direction to get it off the John Buss ditch. Gordon Road is going to be draining into Buss ditch and we don’t want to overload that drain. He presented the petition to be accepted, so there is time for the landowner notices to be prepared and mailed for a public hearing which is temporarily scheduled May 2, 2016.

 

  • Vice President Heimlich made a motion to accept the Countrybrook Subdivision No. 1 & No.2 petition to make the mutual drain a regulated drain; seconded by President Burton. Vote: Unanimous (2-Favor, 1-Absent)

 

 

 

 

JOHN L. BUSS #518 – PETITION FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION

The petition was submitted by the City of Monticello. The maintenance fund has $13,235.03. Currently collects variable rates per acre and five ($5.00) minimum. The annual assessment is $2,962.81. The four year maximum is $11,351.24 and is on the 2016 assessment report. There are approximately 950.328 acres in the watershed.

 

Deputy Surveyor Sundy presented the petition to be accepted. The South Park subdivision water will be diverted another direction and clean the ditch it becomes a reconstruction, because the watersheds are moved around.

 

  • Vice President Heimlich made a motion to accept the petition for the reconstruction for the John L. Buss #518; seconded by President Burton. Vote: Unanimous (2-Favor, 1-Absent)
