BE IT REMEMBERED, that the White County Drainage Board held a regular meeting on Monday, June 6, 2016. The meeting was held at the White County Building, 2nd floor, Commissioners’ conference room beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Drainage Board members present were: President Steve Burton, Vice President John Heimlich and Member David Diener. Also, present were the White County Attorney George W. Loy, White County Surveyor Brad Ward and the Drainage Board Secretary Jennifer Hill.

 

Others present were:

Mike Kyburz – White County Highway Superintendent J.D. Smith – White County Highway Dept.

Sharon Watson-White County Soil & Water Dept. David Livesay

Ken Hall Sharon Johnson

President Burton called the meeting to order.

 

MINUTES

  • Vice President Heimlich made a motion to approve the minutes as presented for the regular meeting held on May 16, 2016; seconded by Member Diener. Vote: Unanimous (3-Favor 0-Opposed)

 

David Livesay- Waiver of the Drainage Ordinance

Surveyor Ward presented the information and aerial photos of the property in question to the Drainage Board for their decision. David Livesay, property owner, is requesting to subdivide approximately three (3) acres of land that is currently one parcel of land located at Division Road and 300 E; each parcel of land will be one and one half (1 ½) acres. A modular will exist on one of the parcels and Mr. Livesay’s intent is to eventually build a single family residence with an approximate 2 ½ car garage on the other parcel. Mr. Livesay answered questions from the Board.

 

  • Member Diener made a motion to provide a Waiver of the Drainage Ordinance in regards to the property subdivision but that this wasn’t a blanket exemption and asked that Mr. Livesay return when he’s ready for building approval; seconded by Vice President Heimlich.

Vote: Unanimous (3–Favor, 0-Against)

 

 

A.B. ROBINSON BRANCH #3 #576- HEARING TO MAKE A MUTUAL DRAIN A REGULATED DRAIN

 

Surveyor Ward presented the information and aerial photos of the property to the Drainage Board for their decision. Dirk Fleck carried this petition (Mr. Fleck was not in attendance at the meeting). There was discussion with Ken Hall and Sharon Johnson who were present in the audience, both own property in the area. Mr. Hall was questioning why he had to pay if he didn’t benefit from the project. Mrs. Johnson gave history as she knew it on how her property had been tiled and explained where the water from her property was tiled to. Mrs. Johnson explained that she didn’t have water that went into the ditch being petitioned, that both of her drains had been tiled directly to the A.B. Robinson. During discussion Mr. Hall made reference to a lift station on the Fleck property that pumps Mr. Fleck’s water up to the A.B. Robinson.

 

  • Member Diener made a motion to continue this hearing until July 18, 2016; seconded by Vice President Heimlich.

Vote: Unanimous (3-Favor, 0-Against)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Amelia Suits #588

There was also short discussion pertaining to the Renwick/ Amelia Suits ditches and reinforcing the banks along 900 E. Information was given on the financials of the Amelia Suits for the Boards review.

 

There being no further business to come before the board, their meeting was adjourned.
