BE IT REMEMBERED, that the White County Drainage Board held a regular meeting on Monday, June 5, 2017.  The meeting was held at the White County Building, 2nd floor, Commissioners’ conference room beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Drainage Board members present were: President Steve Burton, Vice President John Heimlich and Board Member David Diener.  Also, present were the White County Surveyor Bradley E. Ward, Attorney George Loy and Board Secretary Jennifer Hill.

Others present were:

Mike Kyburz – WCH Superintendent J.D. Smith – WCHD

Sharon Watson- SWCD Mark Wright-SWCD

 

President Burton called the meeting to order.

MINUTES

Board Member David Diener made a motion to approve the minutes as presented for the regular meeting held on May 15, 2017, seconded by Vice President John Heimlich.

Vote: Unanimous

DISCUSSION

BOXER GIRL UPDATE

Surveyor Ward explained that he had expected to receive plans for the Boxer Girl Project and those haven’t arrived yet.  He wanted the Boards opinion on having Jason Miller, Randall Miller & Associates review the plans, due to the project being within the City Limits.  There was a motion by Board Member Diener that Jason Miller review the plans for the Boxer Girl Project, with a second from Vice President Heimlich.  Vote: Unanimous.  (3-Favor, 0-Against)

 

OZINGA/ NORTHGATE THAYER PROJECT

Surveyor Ward explained that he had received an email from Jim Thayer with concern that nothing has been started with this project.  He explained that last contact with Mike Conquest with Ozinga was about a month ago, and that they were then having problems finding contractors to do the work that they were needing done.  Attorney Loy suggested that they draft a letter to send to Ozinga.  Surveyor Ward will get with Attorney Loy to get that accomplished.

OTHER BUSINESS

Surveyor provided an update as to what projects the office has been working on.  There have been to Bid Specification Packets sent out on two Maintenance Projects.  Surveyor Ward and Deputy Surveyor Sundy have surveyed 3 other ditches/tiles and are working on plans for those.

Surveyor Ward met with Mike Yelton with the Town of Wolcott.  Petitions were sent to Mr. Yelton for the Pugh Ditch and the Pugh Tile for work that they’re wanting to do involving some retention ponds, the office is still waiting for that to be returned.

Work has started on the Crowell Wells Project.

Surveyor Ward has a meeting scheduled this month in regards to the Fern McKillip permitting process.
