BE IT REMEMBERED, that the White County Drainage Board held a meeting on Monday, March 5, 2018. The meeting was held at the White County Building, 2nd floor, Commissioners’ conference room beginning at 10:30 a.m. Drainage Board members present were: President Steve Burton, Vice President John Heimlich and Board Member David Diener. Also, present were the White County Surveyor Bradley E. Ward, Attorney George Loy and Board Secretary Jennifer Hill.

 

President Burton called the meeting to order.

MINUTES

· Board Member Diener made a motion to approve the minutes as presented for the regular meeting held on February 20, 2018, seconded by Vice President Heimlich.

Vote: Unanimous(3 – Favor 0 – Oppose)

OPEN BIDS/QUOTES – 2018 SPRAY PROJECT

Surveyor Ward explained that 4 bids were sent out and 3 were received. Attorney Loy opened the bids.

Surveyor’s Co. Hwy

K&H Spraying $47,334.00 $6,240.00

Dalton’s $33,908.00 $5,018.00

Right of Way Mgmt $24,946.60 $2,284.56

Board Member Diener made a motion to accept the low bid from Right of Way Mgmt for $24946.60, with a second by Vice President Heimlich. Vote: Unanimous (3 – Favor 0 – Oppose)

 

Town of Chalmers

Surveyor Ward explained that he had met with Faith Willoughby in regards to some flooding issues that occurred in Chalmers with the last rainfall. Surveyor Ward had also spoke with the Town of Chalmers Engineer, Ken Smith in regards to the problem. Mr. Smith was going to look into the possibility of a grant being available to help with costs.

 

Other Business

The Indian Creek project is still moving along.

Surveyor Ward and Superintendent Mike Kyburz met with Matt Thornton in regards to phase 6.

 

There being no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned.
