MINUTES

· President Steve Burton made a motion to approve the minutes as presented for the regular meeting held on April 16, 2018, seconded by Vice President Heimlich.

Vote: Unanimous (2 – Favor, 0 – Oppose)

PETITION FOR RECONSTRUCTION –

Br #1 of Vernie Hayes Ditch of the John P. Carr Drain #520

This petition was carried by the Bol’s. They’re considering putting a confined hog operation in. There is potential impact on the regulated drain, the J.P. Carr. If they decide to go thru with the operation the tile would need to be relocated. I’ve explained that cost would be on them. The location is being considered because of the required distance they would be from the Town of Chalmers. Vice President Heimlich made a motion to accept the petition for the reconstruction with a second from Board Member Diener. Vote: Unanimous (3 – Favor, 0 – Oppose)

Other Business

Tom Mowerer stepped to the podium and spoke in regards to the T.J. Woltz. He explained that he lives off 175 N and has paid the $8,000 that was required of him from the reconstruction, however, he feels that he isn’t getting any benefit because his property isn’t draining. Surveyor Ward explained to the Drainage Board that he’s been in contact with Allan Howe the contractor that did the reconstruction work and he stated that the tile was running when it was hooked up. But he has been sent a work order (in approximately November) to put an air well at the end of the county tile so that it can be inspected. The Board decided that it would be best for Surveyor Ward to contact the contractor and see if he couldn’t get things moving along.

There be no other business, the meeting was adjourned.
