BE IT REMEMBERED, that the White County Commissioners held a regular meeting on Monday, December 3, 2018, in the White County Building, 2nd -floor Commissioners’ Conference Room, beginning at 8:15 a.m. Commissioners present were: President John C. Heimlich, Commissioner Steve Burton, and Commissioner David Diener. Also present was White County Attorney George Loy, White County Auditor Gayle Rogers, and Commissioners’ Assistant Donya Tirpak.

Commissioner Heimlich called the meeting to order.

MINUTES

· Commissioner Diener made a motion to approve the minutes for the regular meeting on November 19, 2018, and the Executive Session on November 19, 2018, seconded by Commissioner Burton. Vote: Unanimous

PAYROLL

· Commissioner Burton made a motion to approve payroll for December 3, 2018, seconded by Commissioner Diener. Vote: Unanimous

CLAIMS

· Commissioner Diener made a motion to approve and pay the claims as presented, seconded by Commissioner Burton. Vote: Unanimous

AWARD SERVICE WEAPON TO RETIRED DEPUTY

White County Chief Deputy A.J. Alletto requested ownership of his service weapon after he retires from the Sheriff’s Department on or about January 1, 2019. Request of the weapon falls under White County Ordinance 12-09-17-1. Chief Deputy Alletto said that he'd been a deputy for 36 years and his time spent working for Sheriff Pat Shafer has certainly been the highlight of his career.

The weapon to be transferred is a Glock G4 Model 22 Pistol, Serial Number BFBA763, Caliber: 40 S&W.

The Commissioners commended Chief Deputy Alletto for his communication, dedication, and service to the Sheriff and them.

· Commissioner Diener made a motion to grant ownership of the Glock G4 Model 22 Pistol, SN BFABA763 to Chief Deputy Alletto on or about January 1, 2019, seconded by Commissioner Burton. Vote: Unanimous

INTERSECTION OF 421 & GORDON ROAD – CONTRACT

Highway Superintendent Mike Kyburz presented an LPA-Consulting Contract between Lochmueller Group, Inc., and White County. The INDOT contract is for engineering services for the Intersection of 421 and Gordon Road project and not to exceed $408,100.

· Commissioner Burton made a motion to enter into a contract with Lochmueller Group for the Intersection of 421 and Gordon Road project, seconded by Commissioner Diener. Vote: Unanimous

AREA PLAN

Interim Director Joe Rogers said that he sent notification last week to Sidwell to terminate the agreement for the permitting software. He discussed utilizing SDR, which is the company that does their addressing software. SDR can parse data as they need to populate for their software.

GORDON ROAD PROJECT – CHANGE ORDER

Highway Superintendent Mike Kyburz submitted Change Order No. 001 from American Structurepoint for $1,451.50. The additional cost is for the relocation of a water main tap and switching to a 6” valve.

· Commissioner Diener made a motion to approve Change Order No. 001 for $1,451.50 for the Gordon Road project, seconded by Commissioner Burton. Vote: Unanimous

2019 COUNTY HIGHWAY SUPPLY BIDS

White County Attorney George Loy announced that the time has expired for the submission of bids for the 2019 County Highway Supplies. Bids were received from the following:

Highway Superintendent Mike Kyburz said that he did not require bid bonds this year.

Commissioner Heimlich said that the bids would be taken under advisement and awarded at the next meeting.
