June 21st, 2010

The White County Drainage Board convened at 10:30 A. M. in the Commissioners’ Room of the White County Building, Monticello, Indiana. Board members present were: President Ronald Schmierer, Vice President Steve Burton, and Drainage Board Member John Heimlich. Also present were Attorney George W. Loy and Secretary Jamie Rozzi. Surveyor Dennis Sterrett and Drainage Assistant Mary Sterrett were absent.

Also in attendance were Engineer Todd Frauhiger, Sharon Watson with White County Soil & Water, and Charlie Mellon.

The first item on the agenda was to approve the minutes from the June 7th, 2010 meeting. Board Member Heimlich so moved. Board Member Burton seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

The next item on the agenda was Mabel G. Horton Subdivision – Part VI Drainage Review.

Engineer Frauhiger explained, "This is a new subdivision…part of an existing subdivision. I understand that the school is working, cooperating….this is the development where the co-op builds the houses…building trades. They’ve got seven or eight more lots. My understanding is that eventually they will come out in this field. A new storm drain that the Town of Monon put in, the large one is about 36 inches back here and there’s a 12 inch pipe that they have connected that drains the rest of the subdivision. They are proposing a detention basin across the back these lots. It’s ready to be approved, the only thing was that this pipe wasn’t sized so we redid the calculations and confirmed with Rob that it is going to be an 8 inch plastic pipe…and the elevations--they will verify when they actually get out there to build it. The detention pond is the correct size so it will handle all the water coming off the field from the houses and it will not over top. The back half of the lots will go back to the detention basin. And then this is a 12 inch pipe that the town put in that will take it back to the detention basin."

Board Member Heimlich made a motion to approve the drain plan for Mabel G. Horton Subdivision – Part VI. Board Member Burton seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Secretary Jamie Rozzi notified the board that a letter was received from the Pulaski County Drainage Board waiving their rights to be represented on a Joint Board for the W. W. Helfrick Maintenance Project.

Chairman Schmierer asked if there was anything further for the board. Chairman Schmierer then adjourned the meeting.
