BE IT REMEMBERED, that the White County Commissioners held a regular meeting on April 4, 2005, at the White County Courthouse, 2nd floor, Commissioners’ Chambers beginning at 8:00 a.m

Commissioners’ present was Joan C. Heimlich, President; Steven Burton, Vice President; and O.D. “Bud” Ferguson, Member. Also present was White County Attorney George Loy, White County Auditor Mary Jo Pool, and the Commissioners’ Administrative Assistant Donya Tirpak.


Commissioner Ferguson made a motion to approve the minutes for the March 21, 2005, meeting, seconded by Commissioner Burton. Vote: Unanimous


Commissioner Ferguson made a motion to approve payroll as presented for March 31, 2005, and April 10, 2005, seconded by Commissioner Burton. Vote: Unanimous


Commissioner Heimlich discussed that the telephone bill from Sprint for $10,000.00 was paid from one of the Bio-Terrorism grants. The bill was for the installation of a new telephone port and three telephones at the annex building. This was needed because the Health Dept. (Bio-Terrorism) wanted to have a conference room and an office for the Coordinator. Commissioner Heimlich discussed with the County Attorney that if this is not acceptable under the grant guidelines that the County will pay the money back. Gwynn Rusinek, Office Manager from the Health Dept., was present.

Commissioner Ferguson made a motion to approve the claims as advertised, seconded by Commissioner Burton. Vote: Unanimous


Mr. Joe Rehwinkel did not show up for the meeting.


Karen Hatter, County Assessor, appeared before the Commissioners’ discussing the contract that was submitted from Plexis Group. Plexis Group will provide an Internet website consisting of the Information on the Property Record Card. They will duplicate the information from the County’s Property Record Card onto the CAMA website. The cards will provide the following information:

The contract price is $9,720.00. A section in the contract stated that if their were any modifications that there would be an additional fee. The Commissioners’ asked Assessor Hatter to ask a representative to come to the next meeting discussing the contract.


Highway Superintendent Steve Brooke thanked the Commissioners for their support in helping him request additional funds for equipment and road funds.

Mr. Brooke said that the roof at the Highway Dept. is 20 years old and it needs to be replaced. Deno Roofing of Monticello patched the roof three times last year. The Commissioners asked him to solicit three quotes.

There being no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned.
