BE IT REMEMBERED, that a regular meeting of the White County Commissioners was held at the White County Building at 8:00 a.m. on September 2, 2003, on the second floor of the Commissioners Chambers.

Commissioners present were: President John C. Heimlich, Vice President Ronald Schmierer and Member O.D. “Bud” Ferguson. Also present were Commissioners Secretary Donya Tirpak, White County Auditor Mary Jo Pool and White County Attorney George Loy.

Commissioner President John C. Heimlich called the Commissioners meeting to order.

MINUTES

Commissioner Schmierer made a motion to approve the minutes from the regular meeting on August 18, 2003, seconded by Commissioner Ferguson. Vote: Unanimous

PAYROLL

Commissioner Ferguson made a motion to approve payroll for September 8, 2003, as presented, seconded by Commissioner Schmierer. Vote: Unanimous

CLAIMS

Commissioner Schmierer made a motion to pay the claims as advertised, seconded by Commissioner Ferguson. Vote: Unanimous

APPOINTMENT – E-911 DIRECTOR

Commissioner Schmierer, also President on the E-911 Board, said that the White County Communications E-911 Board interviewed several candidates for the new Director’s position. The E-911 Board made the recommendation to appoint Terri Conwell from Buffalo.

  • Commissioner Schmierer made a motion to appoint Terri Conwell to fill the position of the E-911

Director effective September 8, 2003, seconded by Commissioner Ferguson. Vote: Unanimous

E-911 DIRECTOR - JOB DESCRIPTION

Commissioner Schmierer explained that four E-911 Board members got together to make up a job description for the open E-911 Director’s position. As Commissioner Schmierer presented a copy of the job description to the other Commissioners, he pointed out that the board did emphasize in the job description the hours being worked by the director and also the requirement to physically clock in and clock out.

  • Commissioner Schmierer made a motion to put into place the Job Description for the E-911 White

County Communications Director, seconded by Commissioner Ferguson. Vote: Unanimous

HIGHWAY DEPT.

White County Hwy. Superintendent Steve Brooke announced that the County Auction would be on Saturday, October 11th.

Meetings, Claims, Holiday’s and Payroll for 2004 as presented, seconded by Commissioner Ferguson. Vote: Unanimous
