The White County Drainage Board convened at 10:30 A. M. in the Commissioners’ Room of the White County Building, Monticello, Indiana.  Board members present were:  Vice President Steve Burton, Drainage Board Member John Heimlich and Drainage Board Member David Diener.  Also present were Attorney George W. Loy, Surveyor Bradley Ward and Drainage Assistant Mary Sterrett.

The October 3rd, 2011 White County Drainage Board was called to order by Vice President Steve Burton.  

Election of a new Chairman of the White County Drainage Board was held.  Motion was made by Board Member David Diener to elect Steve Burton White County Drainage Board Chairman.  Motion seconded by Board Member John Heimlich.  Motion carried unanimously.

The first item on the agenda was to approve the minutes from the September 19th, 2011 White County Drainage Board Meeting.  Board Member John Heimlich so moved.  Board Member Diener seconded the motion.  Motion carried unanimously.

It was discussed by the White County Drainage Board, Attorney Loy and Drainage Assistant on how to shorten the time and effort put forth to transcribe the meeting minutes word for word.  It was further discussed that if minutes need to be heard in their entirety they are recorded in Surveyor’s Office on the computer under digital minutes or a CD can be cut from the digital minutes off the server by contacting Eric Storm.

Next on the agenda-Drainage Review of the Clapper Funeral Service located in Hughes Industrial Park Brookston

The Drainage Review for Clapper Funeral Service was not presented for review due to the fact the Engineer Frauhiger was unable to complete the work needed for this project.  This review will be reviewed at a later date.

Board Member Heimlich asked Surveyor Ward to explain a claim from Wrede and Sons regarding the Kassabaum Drain #518.  The claim was as follows: Explore tile for blockage and install air well-charge-$2,140.30, paid 10-3-2011.

Surveyor Ward informed the Board that the Hearing for the Joseph Kellenburger Drain Maintenance Modification would be presented at the October 17th Drainage Board Meeting.

John Dyrek, Jim and Sharon Brown were in attendance regarding a hog operation near Monon.  This review was not on the agenda.  Surveyor Ward and the Drainage Board explained that the drainage plan has not been presented for review by the Drainage Board.   Therefore their questions could not be answered.  They were advised to watch for the posted agenda as to the date and time that the project would be reviewed.

With nothing further Chairman Burton adjourned the October 3, 2011 White County Drainage Board Meeting.
